The responsibility for network support was taken over from
their previous provider and brought up to standard with regard
to general maintenance, updates, antivirus measures, backups
and remote access. Three new NEC desktop computers were
supplied along with 6 'ultraportable' NEC laptops. A support
contract was put in place with telephone support, onsite support
and regular preventative maintenance visits. Remote-support
facilities were also installed - allowing rapid resolution of
IT problems as they surfaced, and to show employees how to perform
certain tasks.
Since CHASE rely heavily on a reliable email service, a secondary
email facility was set up on a totally separate connection in
order to allow the sending and receiving of emails following
an interruption of the usual service from their ISP. A secondary
server also acts as a backup in the event of a serious failure.
